  • Odd-Numbered Addresses: Watering is permitted on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • Even-Numbered Addresses: Watering is permitted on Thursdays and Sundays.
  • No WateringMondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.

2. Time Restrictions

  • Permitted Hours: Watering is only allowed between 6 PM and 10 AM.
  • Prohibited Hours: Watering is not allowed between 10 AM and 6 PM due to high evaporation rates.

3. Hand-Watering and Drip Irrigation

  • Hand-watering and the use of drip irrigation systems are allowed on any day, but must follow the time restrictions stated above.

4. Restrictions on Wasteful Practices

  • No Water Runoff: Ensure that water does not run off onto sidewalks, streets, or driveways.
  • No Watering During Rainfall: Automatic sprinklers should be equipped with rain sensors to prevent operation during rain.

Additional Measures:

  • Swimming Pools: Filling of new swimming pools and refilling existing pools are restricted to the outdoor watering schedule.
  • Washing Vehicles: Washing of vehicles should be done with a bucket and hose equipped with a shutoff nozzle, or at a commercial car wash.
  • Fountains and Water Features: Operation of decorative fountains and water features should be minimized, and those without recirculating water are prohibited.

Enforcement and Penalties

The city of Irving will actively enforce these water restrictions. Residents and businesses found in violation may face fines and other penalties. Repeat offenders may be subject to increased fines and possible restrictions on water service.

Tips for Water Conservation

  • Landscaping: Choose drought-resistant plants and practice xeriscaping to reduce water usage.
  • Maintenance: Regularly check for leaks in irrigation systems and repair them promptly.
  • Indoor Conservation: Use water-efficient fixtures and appliances, and practice mindful water use in daily activities.
