As part of our ongoing efforts to conserve water and ensure a sustainable supply for the community, the City of Farmers Branch has implemented new water restrictions for 2024. These measures are designed to address the challenges posed by ongoing drought conditions and increasing water demand.

- Odd Numbered Addresses: Outdoor watering is allowed on Wednesdays and Sundays.
- No Outdoor Watering: No watering is permitted on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
- Time Restrictions: Watering with irrigation systems or sprinklers is only allowed before 10 AM and after 6 PM to reduce evaporation.
Hand Watering and Drip Irrigation

- Drip Irrigation: Permitted to operate any day but only during the allowed hours (before 10 AM and after 6 PM).
Prohibited Activities
- Hosing Down Pavements: The use of water to clean sidewalks, driveways, patios, and other hard surfaces is prohibited.
- Water Runoff: Watering that results in excessive runoff onto streets, sidewalks, and gutters is prohibited.

New Landscaping
- Permits and Exemptions: Newly installed landscaping and sod can be watered daily for the first 30 days after installation, but a permit must be obtained from the city for exemption from the regular watering schedule.

- First Violation: Warning notice issued.
- Second Violation: Fine up to $100.
- Subsequent Violations: Increasing fines and possible restrictions on water usage.
Tips for Efficient Water Use
